The staff here are genuinely friendly and attentive, always ready to help you navigate the menu or recommend their favorite dishes. The menu at Litla kaffistofan brims with delightful options that cater to both breakfast enthusiasts and lunch lovers. Imagine sinking your teeth into their renowned roast beef sandwich, a hearty offering that's perfectly sized for sharing or as a fulfilling solo meal. As customer Craig Eicher delightedly recounted, they even customized a breakfast plate featuring eggs, bacon, and toast that reminded him of home flavors, and he highly recommends their unusual yet amazing Icelandic pancakes that offer a charming twist. In his words: “A true delight! I rate our breakfast at this wonderful deli 5 stars!”

Sandwich aficionados will particularly appreciate the accolades from other customers who swear by the cafe’s impressive selection. Orion Pullen described one of their sandwiches as “the most underrated and surprisingly awesome” he encountered during his travels in Iceland, proving that great food can often be found in the most unassuming of places.

The most underrated and surprisingly awesome sandwiches I had in Iceland. I underestimated it because it looked like a gas station along side the highway but it was awesome. The sandwich was big, affordable, and delicious.

We had the roast beef. It was very delicious. Split between two people it’s a light snack. One sandwich is a big meal. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.

A true delight! I rate our breakfast at this wonderful deli 5 stars! We are from the US and have not found a breakfast with eggs and bacon in Iceland, so Steinar quickly made what we were looking for. He delivered a generous plate of eggs with cheese, bacon and toast. Fantastic! Also, I recommend the Icelandic pancakes - they were unusual and amazing. If you're in the Reykjavik area, we recommend Litla Kaffistofan.

We didn't stop to buy anything (the shop was closed anyway), but it is a very convenient place to stop and take photos of the sunset (which in mid April is around 10pm). Iceland trully is the land of ice and fire.
